Police and Child Protective Services are investigating after a two-year-old was found alone on a southside street corner.

Two girls found the toddler at W. Winnipeg and Collingsworth around 10:30 p.m.  Friday.

Police say the little boy was sitting at the corner with no jacket or shoes.

The girls called police.

Officers say they searched the area until they located the child's grandmother about two blocks from where the girls found him.

She told police she was taking a shower and left the child in the care of another adult.

Police say they called Child Protective Services to investigate.
