Traffic stop leads BCSO deputies to make large drug bust

Sheriff's Office said driver appeared nervous

SAN ANTONIO – Bexar County sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop Sunday afternoon and wound up making a large drug bust.

Two men were arrested.

Deputies said they pulled over a Chrysler 300 and the driver appeared to be nervous.

“So many times our deputies will make what appears to be routine traffic stops, and it yields much more than just what it appears to be,” Bexar County sheriff’s spokeswoman Rosanne Hughes said. “Sometimes (it is) active warrants, sometimes they have drugs in their vehicle, and that's what happened today."

The bust occurred near the intersection of Montgomery and New World drives on the county’s Northeast Side.

Investigators seized approximately 100 pounds of marijuana.

Both man are facing a felony charge of possession of marijuana over 50 pounds.
