San Antonio is surrounded as the annual Stock Show & Rodeo trail rides converge on downtown. The event brings 3,500 cowboys and cowgirls from all over Texas as they make the long-distance trail ride.
"The wind is a little nippy, but other than that, it's a beautiful riding day,” said Arlis Young, trail boss of the South Texas Trail Ride.
Young along with 45 others spent much of Wednesday riding from Falls City to Floresville, stopping in Poth to visit with elementary school students.
The South Texas Trail Ride started near Corpus Christi nearly a week ago and has rolled down the trail since. On-lookers often stopped to take pictures.
"Our motto is keeping the cowboy tradition alive and I hope they see us withstanding the elements,” said Kimberly Atchley, who serves at the South Texas Trail Ride Sweetheart.
There are 11 trail rides making their way towards the AT&T Center, all scheduled to arrive on Friday.
