The Transportation Security Administration is implementing new protocols to reduce the stress of wounded warriors while they travel.
The reform offers a new level of comfort and trust to those who have been severely injured in service to the United States.
“Right now with my leg, I can't bend my knee to well, so taking my shoe off and putting it back on can get a little difficult sometimes," Air Force veteran Jeremy Maddamma said.
Maddamma said he is glad that he no longer has to take his shoes off when going through airport security.
He says that little change makes his trip through the airport less stressful.
"Just call us," TSA Deputy Administrator John Halinski said. "We'll try to do the best we can to get you through screening as painlessly as possible."
Just in time for Veterans Day on Nov. 11, the TSA is making sure wounded warriors don't have to be hassled when going through security.
In fact, when wounded warriors call ahead, they'll have assistance from curbside to the aircraft.
"By contacting us and providing us with the information after booking, TSA will have passenger support specialists ready to guide the wounded warriors thought the screening process. Our officers are committed to treating the officers with respect and dignity they reserve," said Halinski.
And Maddamma said these changes will be helpful not only to the wounded warriors but also to their families.

Itinerary information for the entire party will be required, and traveling companions will still receive standard screening.
