VIA Metropolitan Transit released a video of a recent bus accident Wednesday afternoon.
The accident happened on Oct. 27 at the intersection of North Grimes and East Houston.
A female driver ran a stop sign and pulled out in front of the VIA bus, causing the driver to swerve. The bus clipped the car and ended up slamming into the front porch of a home.
Linda Blackwell was inside the home at the time of the crash.
She said she had just moved inside from the front porch moments before the accident.
“I was sitting on the porch and I went in to cook my spaghetti. I heard this racket, this noise and racket, and it was this bus that ran into this house,” Blackwell said. “It shook the whole house. I didn't know what it was and then we came to the door they said we couldn’t get out.”
The VIA driver was not cited for the accident.
Officers blamed the crash on the driver of the car who ran the stop light.
The driver was the only person injured in the accident.
