SAN ANTONIO -

San Antonio's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program kicked off the 2014 income tax season Wednesday morning with a resource fair, providing free tax help to those who qualified.

The resource fair was held from 10 a.m. to noon at The Neighborhood Place, located at 3014 Rivas. Tax preparers were on site to assist San Antonio residents with their 2013 income taxes.

Tax preparation help will be available through April 15, the deadline to file. Individuals and families may only earn up to $60,000 per year to be eligible.

Certified Application Counselors will also be available to assist with the Health Insurance Marketplace application and enrollment process.
