Police are looking for the man who held up a north side steakhouse, shot a waitress, and fled empty-handed.

It happened around 2 a.m. Sunday at the Saltgrass Steakhouse on U.S. 281 near Donella Drive.

The suspect walked in, grabbed a waitress by the neck, and demanded money from the manager, police say.

In the process, a building alarm began to sound. The manager was unable to comply with the gunman's demands to shut it off.

That's when, officers say, the frustrated suspect shot the waitress in the leg and took off without any money.

The waitress was rushed to an area hospital.
