Thursday morning started with warm weather and heavy fog, but before 7 a.m., a front moved in and brought an instant temperature drop.

The day started off warm and humid in San Antonio with heavy fog that made driving dangerous.

San Antonio police investigators said they think low visibility was a factor in at least one wreck that occurred Thursday morning.

But just before 7 a.m. the fog rolled out and the wind picked up.

"It's kind of weird the way Texas is, but it's nice. It feels good," said Hipolito Valdez, who enjoyed the cooler temperatures.

The temperature dropped 10 degrees as soon as the front arrived, and it kept falling.

"When I got up this morning, it felt good. I was like, 'Ah, it feels good.' I was like, 'It's going to be a good day.' Then I got to work and the temperature just started dropping," said Anthony Byrd.

He was one of many caught off-guard by the big temperature drop. He didn't bring a coat for his job working outside.

"I'm going to be working a little harder, so I'll be warm for the most part," he said.

Most everyone said they were ready to move away from the warmer weather that started the day. The cooler air seemed to be lightening spirits.

"It puts everyone in the holiday spirit and everything. It feels like Christmas now," said Valdez.
