SAN ANTONIO -

The San Antonio area is expected to see ideal temperatures Tuesday, but it will not last long as another strong cold front is predicted to arrive this week.

KSAT Weather Authority meteorologist Mike Osterhage predicts a high near 70 Tuesday, but says not to get used to the warmer temperatures because another front will move through Wednesday and get us back to winter for the rest of the week.

According to the National Weather Service, the cold front will arrive Wednesday and bring colder than normal temperatures through at least Friday.

A mix of light freezing rain and sleet is possible starting early Thursday morning. As temperatures rise through the morning, the precipitation is expected to change to rain over most areas.

A mix of freezing rain and sleet will develop again Thursday night as temperatures drop to freezing across the area. This will continue into Friday morning.

Precipitation amounts Wednesday night through Saturday are expected to remain light with little or no ice accumulation expected, according to the NWS.
