SAN ANTONIO -

An intersection on the far west side of San Antonio is driving a neighborhood resident crazy.

“I’ve been cut off many times,” said the concerned citizen.

The problem is the intersection at Military and Ellison, just down the street from Vale Middle School.

When drivers going down Ellison cross over Military, the two-lane road turns into one with a bike lane.

Those in the right lane are forced to merge.

“You know folks are not courteous to one another,” said the neighbor. "They know that the lanes end, especially if they drive that way every day to drop off their children, but they still insist on speeding up to get ahead of you."

There is a sign just past the intersection directing drivers to merge left into the single lane.

According to the Transportation and Capital Improvement Department, the sign has been placed in the correct location, and a sign further back down the road would cause confusion.
