Heavy downpours are hitting southern parts of Texas, causing flooding along cities and towns along the Mexico Border.

Eagle Pass is among the cities hit hardest by the rains.

City officials have not announced any mandatory evacuations, but a shelter is being opened up for people that are forced away from rising flood waters.

Images show many areas of town that appear to be experiencing flooding up to a foot high.
