SAN ANTONIO -

There is new information on a hit-and-run crash that killed a young San Antonio father over the weekend.

On Saturday, Paul Michael Hernandez, 20, was walking to a neighborhood convenience store at the intersection of S. Flores and E. Southcross Boulevard when he was struck and killed by an unknown driver.

A witness has now come forward, identifying a white or silver four-door Chevy Malibu as the vehicle responsible for the crash.

"We're all just taking it really hard. My brother was everyone's favorite," said Genevieve Gutierrez, Paul's older sister. "And everybody just wants to find the person, the car."

Hernandez's family said they have been asking for donations to help cover funeral expenses, which are set for next week.

The family will also hold a fundraiser, this weekend.

"We've got to stay strong for him, for his son, for the family, for ourselves," said Bobby Lopez, Hernandez's cousin. "We're just doing what we've got to do to give him a proper burial."

Crime Stoppers is now offering to pay up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case. Anyone with information is urged to call 224-STOP and can remain anonymous.
