A 36-year-old woman was booked into the Bexar County Jail Monday on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a minor for allegedly having repeated sex with a 13-year-old boy.
A Bexar County sheriff's deputy found the pair in the backseat of a car Sunday evening while responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle on the 4900 block of Winter Cherry. Detectives were then called to the scene.
BCSO spokesman Paul Berry said the boy told investigators he and the woman were having sex and it was not the first time.
The woman has been identified as 36-year-old Jasmine Garcia DeJesus. Her bond was set at $75,000.
“When our deputy arrived, he noticed that there was activity in the back seat and he waited for the people to get out of the car and that’s when he noticed the difference in ages," Berry said.
Berry said it is unclear how Garcia DeJesus and the boy know each other. Child Protective Services is also investigating.
Neighbors shocked by arrest
Ram Puente lives across the street from DeJesus.
He said the charges do not sound like the woman he’s known for the last 10 years.
“She wouldn’t be capable of doing that to anyone," he said. "She used help me out. I helped her out, cut grass and stuff. I’m 17, you know. I'm a minor too. She wouldn’t be able to do that.”
Anthony Hernandez lives next door to DeJesus.
He said if she’s guilty, it just proves you never truly know your neighbors.
“It's a little bit of a shock,” he said. “I’m kind of worried. What kind of neighbors do we (have)?”
