SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police have arrested a woman they say attempted to cash a forged check at a local H-E-B.
Vanessa Mata, 39, has been taken into custody.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit, Mata in April tried cashing the check in her name for more than $600 at the H-E-B located in the 8200 block of Marbach Road.
Authorities said they were able to determine the check was forged and tied Mata to the crime by using her fingerprints.
