Woman charged with murder in West Side shooting

Officers respond to shooting in 10500 block of Dugas Drive

SAN ANTONIO – A woman taken in for questioning after a man died in a shooting has been charged with murder.

San Antonio police responded to a call for a shooting around 12:45 p.m. Monday in the 10500 block of Dugas Drive.

Police said the man and woman were arguing when the altercation turned physical. The woman shot the man several times in the upper body, killing him, according to authorities. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The young lady fled from the house, told the neighbor she had just shot another man that's inside the house. When officers arrived they did find that victim who had been shot several times," SAPD Sgt. Javier Salazar said.

Neighbors said there have been problems between the pair and that the man had made threats to a neighbor in the past.

A child under the age of 10 who was inside the home at the time of shooting was not injured, police said.

Police have not said whether or not the pair were married and have not released their names, only saying that the woman is 27 and the man was 31.

San Antonio police said Monday night that the woman has been charged with murder.
