SAN MARCOS, Texas – An 18-year old San Marcos woman died after she was struck by an Amtrak train while walking on the railroad tracks late Monday night.
A City of San Marcos press release stated Angelina Isabel Castillo was struck at Post Road and Aquarena Springs Drive just before 11 p.m.

Castillo was transported to Central Texas Medical Center where she died shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday, according to Sgt. Christopher Tureaud. San Marcos Police, Fire and EMS responded to the scene.
The fatality is being investigated by the San Marcos Police Collision Investigation Team, Amtrak Police and Union Pacific Police, the release stated. An autopsy has been ordered.
