Woman grazed in shooting after domestic disturbance, police say

Incident occurred just after 11 p.m. Tuesday at Spanish Oak Apartments

SAN ANTONIO – A woman in her apartment was wounded in a shooting overnight following a domestic disturbance, San Antonio police said Wednesday.

The incident occurred just after 11 p.m. Tuesday at the Spanish Oak Apartments, found in the 3200 block of Cripple Creek on the city's Northeast Side.

Police said they were originally called to a domestic disturbance and had to tell a man to leave his girlfriend's apartment.

The officers left the scene only to hear gunshots a short while later, officials said.

Police said the man had returned to the apartment and opened fire, hitting it more than five times.

The woman living in the apartment was grazed by a bullet in the stomach but she refused to go to the hospital, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.

No word on if the man was arrested.
