SAN ANTONIO -

A suspected drunk driver is being held by San Antonio Police after a deadly crash on the southeast side.

Police say a woman passenger died when the driver crashed around 2:30 a.m. Sunday near S. Presa and Natchez Trail.

According to police, a man and woman were traveling south on Presa when the driver hit an island in the middle of the road, lost control and went down a ditch into brush.

The passenger was thrown about 50 feet from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was held by police for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
