SAN ANTONIO -

A man convicted on three counts aggravated sexual assault has been sentenced to 225 years in prison, a jury decided Tuesday afternoon.

Aaron Alvarez, 25, was sentenced to 75 years for each count and will have to served them consecutively. He will also have to pay a $30,000 fine.

Another woman testified Tuesday morning during the sentencing phase of Alvarez's trial, saying she, too, was raped by him.

The woman said she knew she was in trouble just minutes after she arrived at Alvarez's Helotes home on a June night in 2011.

“He began raising his voice, disrespecting me and standing in front of the door," the woman testified.

Her testimony came during the punishment phase of Alvarez’s trial.

On Monday, he was found guilty of three counts of aggravated sexual assault stemming from a 2009 attack in which he held a young woman captive and repeatedly raped her.

The testimony on Tuesday was similar.

The victim, who had answered a call to an escort service from Alvarez, said that she went to his home for consensual sex. Her fee, she said, was $160 an hour.

But she said that when Alvarez got verbally abusive, she tried to back out of the deal and leave.

“He stood in front of the door -- he put a chair in front of the door and sat there,” she testified.

She said that when she tried to flee, they scuffled. She screamed and he threatened to hit her with a weight from a weightlifting set.

“He picked up the weight and told me to shut up or he would hit me,“ she said. “He said shut up or he was going to get his gun and kill me and then kill himself.”

During the ordeal, the woman said she managed to use her cell phone to call for help, and just as Alvarez was raping her, police arrived and arrested him.
