SAN ANTONIO -

Two women claim they were attacked by a neighbor's dog on the West Side late Sunday night.

The alleged attack occurred around 10 p.m. at a home in the 1600 block of South Hamilton.

Witnesses tell KSAT news there were a total of seven dogs roaming the area.

It was unknown what provoked the dog to go toward the women, but Animal Care Services were called and the women were both treated for injuries at the scene.

San Antonio police did not say how serious those injuries were or what happened to the dogs. Police also did not say if they spoke to or located the owner.

Neighbors say the dogs have been a problem for about a year and they hope something can be done to prevent a similar incident.
