A 5-year-old girl is in the hospital after being shot in the leg Thursday afternoon.
San Antonio police investigators said the girl was inside the home when a bullet fired from the driveway hit her.
It happened around 5 p.m. at a home in the 2300 block of Gunsmoke on the city's West Side.
"I heard the screaming from inside. My mother ran across the street to go help I was calling 911 to get them out here and we were basically were just trying to keep everybody there and making sure nothing else happened (we were ) watching out for that truck to see if it came back," said neighbor and witness John Garza.
According to investigators, the shooting stemmed from an argument that occurred earlier in the day which continued this afternoon.
Garza said he now worries about his own daughters.
"If those bullets ricochet and hit that little girl, they can easily ricochet and hit my little girls," said Garza.
The 5-year-old was taken to an area hospital and is expected to be OK.
The shooter was last seen a grey Tahoe.
