A cat rescued from a trailer fire in Ohio was revived by firefighters with the help of a pet-sized oxygen mask.

Two other cats and a bird died in the blaze in Macedonia on Tuesday afternoon, according to Cleveland TV station WJW.

They found a third cat unconscious but still breathing.

After fitting it with the specially-designed oxygen mask, the cat showed signs of life and was taken to a local vet clinic to be stabilized and put into an oxygen therapy tank, Fire Chief Tim Black told WJW.

The cat was then transferred to an emergency clinic for monitoring.

According to Black, the cat was treated like any other patient during the emergency. Fire personnel called the clinic while en route with condition updates.

The cat is expected to make a full recovery, but is understandably distressed at the moment, WJW reported.
