Hornets F/C Smith out for season; Davis out vs. Pistons

The New Orleans Hornets announced Friday that forward/center Jason Smith will miss the rest of the season with a torn labrum in his right shoulder.

He will have surgery next week.

In 51 games, Smith averaged 8.2 points and 3.6 rebounds per game and shot 49 percent.

Also, forward Anthony Davis is out Friday against the Detroit Pistons with a shoulder sprain. He is considered day to day.
