Former NBA MVP Allen Iverson reportedly has accepted an offer to play in Venezuela.

Iverson, who is facing serious financial difficults, is expected to sign with Guaros de Lara.

The four-time scoring champion was unable to drum up interest from an NBA club and was left to choose between offers from Venezuela and Puerto Rico.

Iverson played briefly for Turkish club Besiktas Cola Turka in 2010 before returning to the United State to undergo calf surgery. He has not play in the NBA since 2009.

An 11-time All-Star, Iverson was ordered to pay $860,000 last month to settle a debt with an Atlanta jeweler and resulting legal fees.
