Netherlands blanks South Korea

Washington Nationals outfielder Roger Bernadina's two RBI and solid pitching from the Netherlands led to a 5-0 shutout over South Korea in a World Baseball Classic game in Taiwan on Saturday.

Pitchers Diegomar Markwell and Orlando Yntema combined for seven strong innings, allowing just four hits.

Shortstop Andrelton Simmons went 3-for-5 with two doubles and former Atlanta Braves star Andrew Jones had two hits for the Netherlands.

Seven South Korean pitchers allowed 10 hits.

The Netherlands faces Taiwan on Sunday.
