The Brooklyn Nets continue to pursue a way to acquire center Dwight Howard from Orlando, and one method being investigated, according to CBSSports.com, is to offer the Magic a package that includes at least three first-round draft picks.
Any deal made between the Nets and Magic is likely to involve Nets center Brook Lopez going to Orlando and Kris Humphries going to a third team in a sign-and-trade deal, according to the report. The Nets would acquire one of the first-round picks from the third team involved in such a deal.
There were rumors the Nets were attempting to put together a package that would send up to five first-round picks to Orlando, CBSSports.com reported, but that seems unlikely.
The Magic also is seeking cap relief to sign some of its players.
The Rockets, Lakers, Hawks and Mavericks are the other teams believed to be involved in trade talks with Orlando regarding Howard.
