SAN ANTONIO -

The San Antonio Scorpions are looking to carry the success they had in their inaugural season into their second season.

After playing to a scoreless draw in Minnesota last weekend, the Scorpions take on defending North American Soccer League champion Tampa Bay Rowdies in their home opener this Saturday.

Every home game counts because there are only six in the NASL season.

"The home points are vital you got to take care of that," Scorpions head coach Tim Hankinson said.

Saturday will also be the debut of the Scorpions new home Toyota field, which will give the squad a big advantage.

"I think a sellout crowd of 8,000 screaming San Antonio Scorpion fans is going to feel like a 12th man on the field," said Hankinson.

The game will be broadcast live on KSAT 12 this Saturday the pregame show starts at 7:30pm.
