The wife of San Diego Chargers defensive tackle Tommie Harris died in an Oklahoma hospital on Sunday. She was 29.

Ashley Harris died two days after suffering a stroke or brain aneurism, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

A three-time Pro Bowler during his time with the Chicago Bears, the 28-year-old Harris played with both the Indianapolis Colts and Chargers last season.

Married in January, the couple celebrated the birth of its second child four months ago.
