Big Game Coverage Road Trip: Week Two Preview

SAN ANTONIO – It's time to run around South Texas for the Big Game Coverage Road Trip. Three games, six teams and a lot of Friday night football fun.

Game 1: San Marcos Rattlers (1-0) at New Braunfels Cougars (0-1). San Marcos won its season opener, 28-0 vs. East Central. Canyon fell in week one, 46-14 to Round Rock Cedar Ridge. After playing the last six seasons on red turf, the Cougars are back to a more traditional green field. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Cougar stadium.

Game 2: New Braunfels Unicorns (1-0) at Seguin Matadors (1-0). The Unicorns defeated the Alamo Heights Mules last Friday, 44-19. The Matadors crushed Austin Travis, 74-6. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday at Matador Stadium.

Game 3: Navarro Panthers (1-0) at Marion Bulldogs (1-0). Navarro played a thriller in week one, edging Giddings 29-28 after overcoming a 21-9 fourth quarter deficit. Marion had less drama, defeating Austin Eastside Memorial, 62-0. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Veterans Stadium.
