GREEN BAY, Wis. – Packers all-pro wide receiver Jordy Nelson has been ruled out of Sunday's NFC Divisional-round playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Green Bay head coach Mike McCarthy said Friday that team doctors would not medically clear Nelson to play after he suffered a rib injury in last week's playoff win over the New York Giants.

Nelson took a shot to the left side of his body from safety Leon Hall's helmet while jumping for a pass that went incomplete.

McCarthy says Nelson spent Sunday night in the hospital and has not practiced this week.

Nelson played in the Cowboys-Packers regular season game and finished with five catches for 68 yards.

The Cowboys were without their all-pro wideout Dez Bryant, but still won in Green Bay 30-16.

The Cowboys and Packers have met several times in the playoffs with the last meeting in Green Bay two years ago.

The Packers beat Dallas 26-21 after a controversial call that reversed a Bryant touchdown catch in the fourth quarter.
