Matadors win first playoff game since 2005

SAN ANTONIO – The Seguin High School boys basketball team used a wild, half-court buzzer beater shot Tuesday night to defeat Austin Lanier in the state playoffs.

Video of the shot and the Matadors' dramatic 71-68 bi-district win made the rounds on social media.

The Matadors won a playoff game for the first time since 2005. It’s Seguin’s first postseason trip since 2011.

The Matadors will play Angleton in the next round of the 5A Region IV state tournament.
