Alamo Heights, Castle Hills next areas to receive AT&T's fiber network

Internet service is now available to 230,000 locations in SA

SAN ANTONIO – Alamo Heights and Castle Hills have been announced as the next areas of San Antonio to receive AT&T's Fiber network, the company said Tuesday.

AT&T's fastest internet speed tier, AT&T Internet 1000, is now available to over 230,000  homes, apartments and small businesses in the San Antonio area.

San Antonio is one of 57 metros nationwide where the ultra-fast internet service is available. The company intends to reach at least 75 metros with their internet service.

“San Antonio prides itself on providing a great quality of life,” said San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg in a statement. ”Helping to ensure our residents have access to the ultrafast speeds of a competitive fiber market will not only enhance our quality of life but our growing economy as well.”

AT&T Internet 1000, is the fastest internet speed tier on the fiber network. The service is offered at $70 per month for customers who bundle with another AT&T service on a single bill, or $80 per month standalone.

Previously announced area include parts in Converse, Hollywood Park, Terrell Hills, and Universal City.

Salinas, regional vice president, external and legislative affairs for AT&T. “Streaming entertainment, live video interactions and constant online engagement are part of everyday life for our customers today, so we’re especially happy to be able to expand our ultrafast service into the Alamo Heights and Castle Hills areas.”
