When you are out, there are some people who are taking a good look at you as a potential target for crime.

KSAT-12 Crime Analyst Eddie Gonzalez share some tips to help protect yourself:

  • Stay in well-lit areas at night.
  • If you are traveling at night, make sure it is in an area you are familiar with.
  • If you are out at night, try to stay in a group setting.
  • Constantly be aware if anyone is behind you. If you have a sense you are being followed, go somewhere with people around and call police.
  • Watch people's body language. Most people will let you know their intentions just by watching their body language. If you see someone who looks suspicious, try to avoid them.
