BEXAR COUNTY - A sedan crashed into a 30-foot flatbed trailer, sending three children to the hospital on the city's far West Side, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office said Monday.

The accident occurred just after 10 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Krie Highlands and Krie Trail in West Bexar County.

Rosanne Hughes, a spokesperson for the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, said a man had been driving a red sedan northbound when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the 30-foot flatbed trailer.

Three children were inside the sedan at the time of the crash and were taken to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office is working to determine if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
