5 injured in 2-vehicle crash on far West Side

Crash reported around noon at Highway 151, Callaghan Road

SAN ANTONIO – Five people were injured Thursday in a two-vehicle crash on the city's far West Side.

According to a police report, a Ford Focus was headed southbound on Callaghan Road around noon, when the driver made a left-hand turn onto Highway 151 East against an unprotected green light.

The Focus was struck on the passenger side by a Mitsubishi Monterrey that was headed Northbound on Callaghan Road that had the right of way, the report said.

A 45-year-old woman who was a front seat passenger in the Focus was seriously injured. She was transported to University Hospital with "vital signs," the report said.

Three other people were also transported to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Another person was treated and released at the scene.
