Driver in critical condition after crashing truck into big rig

Man was taken to Univesity Hospital for his injuries

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – A driver is in critical condition after crashing his truck into the back of an 18-wheeler overnight, Bexar County deputies said Friday.

The accident occurred just before 9:30 p.m. on Interstate 10 at Ralph Fair Road, found on the city's Northwest Side.

Deputies said the 18-wheeler slowed for construction and that's when the pickup truck slammed into the back of the big rig.

The driver had to be cut out of his vehicle by firefighters at the scene. 

The man was taken to University Hospital for his injuries.
