3 killed in S. Zarzamora crash

Driver sped down South Side street, witnesses say

SAN ANTONIO – Three people were killed instantly after the car they were in crashed into a pole early Saturday morning on the city's South Side. 

According to San Antonio police, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a utility pole in the 9400 block of South Zarzamora Street.

Two passengers were ejected from the vehicle while the driver was trapped inside, said police. 

All three people were pronounced dead on the scene. 

Police said the vehicle caught fire after the crash. 

Police are investigating what caused the crash. 

The medical examiner released two of the three people killed.

Michelle Freire, 23, was from San Antonio and Carlos Valenzuela, 24, was from San Angelo.
