Three people were involved in a car accident Sunday that left one passenger dead.

San Antonio police said the two men and a woman were in a car traveling on Wurzbach Parkway near the Starcrest Drive intersection when the driver lost control.

"The female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, and the male was taken to University Hospital," Sgt. Ramiro Juarez said.

The car hit a concrete pillar, destroying the back of the car.

The other victim in the back of the car was trapped for approximately 30 minutes. Juarez said he appeared to have head trauma, but his injuries were not expected to be life-threatening.

“They were both wearing seat belts. Right now alcohol was not a factor. We don't know if speed was a factor,” he said. “But we do believe weather contributed to the accident."
