Weather Service Issues Winter Storm Warning, Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Comal, Caldwell, Hays, Kendall, Blanco, Gillespie, Kerr, Bandera, Real, Edwards and Val Verde counties until 6 p.m. on Monday.

Due to abundant rains over the past 24 hours, temperatures have remained well above freezing across areas along and east of the Interstate 35 corridor.

There is a winter storm advisory for Bexar County and surrounding counties from 6 p.m. Monday to noon Tuesday.

A winter mix of rain, sleet and snow is being forecast for the area over the next few days.

Rain is probable Sunday night with light sleet after midnight and temperature Lows in the mid 30s.

A combination of cold temperatures, light freezing rain and light sleet is expected to bring icy conditions for Monday afternoon. An ice accumulation of less than one quarter of an inch is probable.

As temperatures drop on Monday night, snow and light freezing rain is expected for the area.

On Tuesday morning, snow is likely with a mix of light freezing rain, but temperatures are expected to raise causing rain in the afternoon.

A mix of rain, snow and light sleet is expected after Midnight with Lows in the lower 30s.

Temperatures are expected to raise to the lower 40s on Wednesday, but conditions will still be wet.
