SAN ANTONIO -- A pit bull attacked two men Wednesday afternoon on the city's West Side.
The dog attacked David Solis while he was escorting a meter reader through a neighborhood in the 2600 block of Aiken.
Solis suffered a dog bite to the abdomen.
"I'm trying to fight him off, he got me all the way to my driveway, knocked me down and started biting the devil out of me," he said.
Omar Rodriguez, who was doing some yard work at the time, saw the attack and came over to help Solis.
The pit bull ended up biting him in the thumb.
"We saw him over here getting attacked by a dog, so we came over to help him out and then the dog came at us and attacked us," Rodriguez said.
Neighbors said the dog is kept behind a fence, but frequently is able to escape.
The canine was being tested for rabies on Wednesday.
Solis and Rodriguez were not seriously injured.
