SAN ANTONIO -- Owners of six recreational vehicles cleaned up Thursday what Mother Nature left behind after raging flood waters destroyed their RVs along the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels.
The RVs were swept away Wednesday after heavy rain fell in the area. One RV slammed into a cement pillar, another was left wrapped around a tree, while another was stripped to its shell.
"We had stereos, VCRs, CD players," said Linda Estes, who was surveying the damage at the River Ranch RV Resort, which is located under Interstate 35. Estes said she and her family were out of town when their camper was swept away. "Thank God everybody is OK," she added.
Estes said she has insurance for her RV, but not for the contents, which she estimated were valued at $15,000.
