First 'cold' front on track to bring rain, highs near 80 early next week

SAN ANTONIO – The temperature outside is about to match the season on the calendar. Early next week, a cold front is expected to sweep across South Texas, bringing cooler temperatures and increase the areas chances of rain.

After reaching highs in the mid-90s on Wednesday, temperatures should struggle to reach 80 on Monday. Low temperatures will be in the low 60s in San Antonio and could drop into the 50s in the Hill Country.

The front is expected to pass over the area Monday morning. Before that rain chances increase on Sunday, with the highest probability of rain being Sunday night into Monday morning.

Rain could be heavy in some locations.

As of Thursday evening, forecasts call for temperatures to remain below average much of next week.
