Heat advisory Friday; Storms possible Sunday evening

Saturday a hot, humid repeat of Friday

SAN ANTONIO – Morning clouds will be slow to burn off today, but as clouds erode this afternoon, KSAT Meteorologist Justin Horne says temperatures will climb into the 90s in many spots.

Warm temperatures coupled with high humidity levels will push heat index values to dangerous levels for areas southwest of San Antonio.

Should a storm develop, it will have the potential to become strong to severe, with large hail and damaging winds.

Storms possible late Sunday

For Sunday, skies will be mostly cloudy, with forecast highs remaining in the 90s.

By late Sunday afternoon and evening, storms are expected to fire as a weak frontal boundary slides into the area.  The best chances of rain will be overnight Sunday into Monday.

A few of the storms could be strong to severe and pockets of heavy rain may develop.

The chance for scattered showers and storms exists into Monday afternoon and through much of next week.
