Mark Austin is well-known to South Texas viewers having spent the bulk of his TV news career at KSAT. 
After brief stints at two stations in East Texas, Mark came to San Antonio as a freelance reporter in late 1998. He joined KSAT 12 News just months later. 
Mark holds a Bachelor's degree in Radio/TV from Stephen F. Austin State University and studied Meteorology at Mississippi State University. 
He can be seen weekdays on San Antonio's top-rated 'Good Morning San Antonio' and 'GMSA @ 9.' 
Asked about career highlights, Mark mentions flying with the USAF Thunderbirds and 'GMSA' winning a Lone Star Emmy for Best Newscast in 2011 and covering every Spurs championship since their first in 1999. 
At home, Mark say he enjoys reading about World War II, listening to jazz and hanging out with his Yellow Lab, Truman. 
He says his favorite things about living in San Antonio are friendly folks, wonderful Mexican food and watching the Spurs play.
