Summer car maintenance tips

Only 7 percent of respondents listed adult daughters and 4 percent sons. Even lower, only 3 percent cited teen daughters and sons.

As the weather heats up make sure your car is prepared to handle the summer temperatures.

Check the tires: As the temperatures rise the tire pressure can change. Make sure your tires aren't over- or under-inflated. This will help you avoid flat tires and blowouts.

Check oil: To prevent your car from overheating, make sure the oil is in good condition. It might also be a good idea to get an oil change to make sure it's fresh and at the correct level.

Check fluids: Make sure you have plenty of all necessary fluids, including coolant, transmission, differential and power steering fluids. Also make sure you don't have any leaks.

Check the air conditioner: No one wants to be hot while driving in their car. Have your air conditioner checked to ensure there are no leaks and that it has proper refrigerant levels.
