SAN ANTONIO - A city health inspection last month uncovered mold inside an ice machine and dead roaches on the storage room floor of a west San Antonio Mexican restaurant.
Pancho's Mexican Restaurant, located in the 1000 block of Old Highway 90 West, received a failing score of 66.
A health inspector also noted that employees were seen touching ready-to-eat food with their bare hands.
Several employees huddled in a back office when KSAT 12 stopped by before eventually emerging and refusing to comment.
Pancho's owner has yet to respond to a request for comment.
Rita's Fiesta Cafe
Rita's Fiesta Cafe, located in the 600 block of Bandera Road, received a 68 after an inspector discovered enchiladas being stored at 64 degrees, the mechanical ventilation in the ladies restroom in need of repair and water collecting on broken floor tiles.
Juan Reyes, who identified himself as the owner's son, said the restaurant "dropped the ball."
As Reyes pointed out, Rita's passed a follow-up inspection on Nov. 6 and is in the process of replacing the floor tiles.
