WWE Royal Rumble, Executive Order, perfect weather
SAN ANTONIO – Get in the know, San Antonio. Here are the stories that impact you and some you’ll be talking about at the water cooler this week.
Executive Order, protests, backlash. Oh my!
President Donald Trump's seismic move to ban more than 218 million people from the United States and to deny entry to all refugees reverberated worldwide Saturday, as chaos and confusion rippled through U.S. airports, American law enforcement agencies and foreign countries trying to grasp Washington's new policy. Trump's order bars citizens from Iraq, Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen from entering the U.S. for the next 90 days. The seven Muslim-majority countries targeted by President Trump in his executive order on immigration were initially identified as "countries of concern" under the Obama administration. Protesters spent the weekend rallying across the country -- including in San Antonio -- against Trump's immigration policies.
A shooting suspect died after jumping off a highway overpass early Sunday, officials said. Deputies said the suspected shooter fled the scene in far NW Bexar County and was tracked down by San Antonio police around midnight at the upper level bridge at IH-10 and Culebra Road. Three hours later, the man jumped from the upper-level bridge, taking his own life.
