The city of Leon Valley has a new tool in its arsenal to fight fires: a six-liter, V-8, fuel-injected engine, four wheel-drive truck with a big suspension.
The new addition will be named Flash.
Fire Chief Luis Valdez said the department’s old brush truck was over 40 years old and in need of a replacement.
With help from Ancira and a reimbursement for emergency services the city was able to fund the new truck.
Students from Leon Valley and Driggers elementary schools helped named the new truck.
