Taco challenge accepted; SA, Austin mayors to meet

SAN ANTONIO – The mayors of Austin and San Antonio will meet later this week in a first-of-its-kind Taco Summit.

Emotions have been running high since an article claimed that Austin was the home of the breakfast taco. San Antonians did not take kindly to that, nor the fact that Austin Mayor Steve Adler declared a taco war in late February.

Mayor Ivy Taylor and Adler will meet this Thursday in Austin at a hotel downtown.

Taylor will be carrying with her 50 tacos from Mittman Fine Foods. No word on what kind of “tacos” Adler will bring with him.
