Thousands expected at inaugural Leon Valley Ciclovia

Event features vendors, Halloween events, early voting

LEON VALLEY, Texas – Thousands of people are expected at the inaugural Leon Valley Ciclovia on Saturday.

The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. City officials are promoting it as family-friendly, pet-friendly, healthy and free. It’s sponsored in part by HEB.

Many activities will be offered, including a Leon Valley Library Halloween Party, Leon Valley Arbor Day (where 500 free trees will be available, while supplies last), the Northwest Seniors Trash and Treasure Day, and even early voting.

In Spanish, Ciclovia means "bike path." This event temporarily closes the streets to vehicles in order to provide a safe space for walking, biking and other social activities.

You can park at the Department of Public Safety, 7410 Huebner Road; the Church of the Latter Day Saints, 7420 Huebner Road; the Community and Conference Center Grounds; or the Leon Valley Library.

Check out the FAQs on the city of Leon Valley’s website for more information on road closures and access.
